Prayer Works! God Spared Me And The Family From Hurricane Ike!
(Tuesday) September 16, 2008 by Tayarisha Joyce

Before hurricane Ike struck the Texas coast and before leaving my home with the kids to stay at my parents’ house, I prayed in a sincerity I can’t put into words. I started praising God and really loving on Him. I complimented Him and Jesus. Then I asked for forgiveness (even for things I’m not aware I may have done that would displease God). Then I felt an urgency in my spirit to rebuke the devil and any other satanic spirits from my house, my body, my children, my loved ones, my friends, and even my enemies. (Yes, even my enemies). I spoke in Jesus name over any weapon that could be used against me, my loved ones, and my home. I BELIEVED with all sincerity everything I prayed. Ironically, I could not find my bible to read Psalm 91. But it was ok because I have prayed Psalm 91 so many times as my strong word and weapon of protection.

My son was asleep as I prayed, but my daughter heard me loud and clear. Well, after the storm passed, I took the kids with me to check on the house and to determine the effects of hurricane Ike. As we drove towards the neighborhood, I saw many disastrous things. We saw trees of all sizes on houses, fences that had been ripped apart on the ground, power lines and poles that had snapped into two pieces and more. My neighborhood looked bad. I have to admit, I felt nervous about what awaited me at my house.

But as I arrived at my house I was happy to find that my house was almost completely spared of any damage unlike some of my surrounding neighbors. All of my trees were fine. My fence and garage were fine. The worst of my damage was a very small patch of shingles from my roof! Praise God for that!

What was also nice was that through the experience, my children were able to see first hand the power of prayer and believing God to deliver on His promises. Hallelujah!

So I encourage you to read out loud Psalm 91. I also have laid hands on my children while they were sleep and read it as is and also read it replacing any pronoun in the scripture with their full names (first, middle, and last). I want to make sure the angels know who God wants them to protect. Let there be no mistake. So I thank God, Jesus, and the Angels of Heaven for watching over everyone I love, our bodies as temples, and even our dwelling places (our homes) which are also temples.

Here is Psalm 91:

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [a]

2 I will say [b] of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the LORD, who is my refuge-

10 then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

Scripture To Use During Any Storm (Financial, Sickness and Disease, Marital, Rebellious Children)
(Tuesday) July 29, 2008 by Tayarisha Joyce

My, my, my these are some challenging times. But through salvation provided by the master plan of our Father God and the fulfillment of Jesus Christ, we are saved.

But as we go through the storms, many of us (including myself) are going through several at one time, we can hold unto the fact that God’s word is true and never returns void. So given that, we have hope. And we can use our faith to hold unto God’s word until we are on the other side of the storms.

With that in mind, I would like to share some nuggets. Use these inspired words from God as your safety net, your life preserve to get you through the storm. If you do this, you won’t lose your mind. You won’t have a nervous breakdown. You won’t take your own life. And remember, as bad as it seems, it could always be worse. You are going through the storms so God can show you where your true support system is. During these times, friends will come and go. During these times, you may even lose a romantic partner. During these times you may find the people you least expect to support you are the very ones who call you everyday with an encouraging word. And the ones you expect to have your back, are the very ones to disappoint you.
There is a reason for the storm. It is to bring you closer to God and to help you discern who really is in your corner. You will learn many things during the storm. And once you are on the other side. You can take that wisdom and share it with others to be a blessing.

But have faith and hold on to the scripture below to get you through this. Nothing stays the same. And when you are on the other side, make sure to bless those who went through the storm with you and those who God puts in your life at that time. God Bless you, you will prevail. In Jesus might name!

Trust God to give us everything we want:

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (King James Version)

 7Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
8For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Psalm 125:1 (King James Version)
1They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

Psalm 91 (trust and protection)
1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
 2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
 3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
 4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
 5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
 6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
 7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
 8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
 9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
 10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
 11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
 12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
 13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
 14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
 15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
 16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Use God’s Word to achieve victory. It doesn’t return void:

Isaiah 55:11 (God speaks to His children, God says it and that settles it)
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Remember God is the provider who prospers us and wants us to prosper:

Deuteronomy 8:18
But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
3 John 1:2
2Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

God gives us power and authority thru the name of Jesus:
Luke 10:19

19Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.

God will do the fighting for us:
Exodus 14:14

 14The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Know that He is God and will be exalted:
Psalms 46:10-11
(King James Version)

10Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Know that whatever it is you are wanting, you can have it in Jesus name!

Mark 11:24
24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Amplified:
24For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].

1 John 5:13-15

13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
 14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
 15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Thank God that He is true and that His Words can be used as weapons for we fight against spirits. The Word is spirit. Use it to get the victory!!

John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Walking in love,
