When You Feel Guilty, Unworthy, Sad, and Down Remember As Bishop Eddie Long Says Jesus Got Up
Have you ever beat yourself up about things you did or didn’t do, perhaps over things you said or didn’t say? Have you ever felt like you didn’t deserve the grace and mercy of God. Have you ever felt like you were being punished because you made a mistake or two? Well sometimes personal condemnation is the worst thing we can do to ourselves, after we have confessed our sins to God.
The truth is we all mess up. Noone is perfect, but God already knows that. Really it’s an act of a lack of faith to continue to beat yourself up, to hold your head down, to walk in shame when Jesus died on the cross to rise again so that we could be redeemed.
Stop beating yourself up and look up to God. Don’t get tired, don’t give up! Have faith in the promises, forgiveness, and redemption provided by Jesus Christ through our salvation. Galatians 6:9 says “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” another translation puts it this way “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Whatever you go through, it won’t last forever.
If you like online sermons, a good one to listen to is “He Got Up (part 1)” by Bishop Eddie Long on Streamingfaith.com and “He Got Up (part 2)”.
