If People Are Attacking You or Your Character, Read Psalm 59

Saturday, February 4, 2017
By

When people attack you, read the following:
Psalm 59
1 Deliver me from my enemies, O God;be my fortress against those who are attacking me.
2 Deliver me from evildoers and save me from those who are after my blood.
3 See how they lie in wait for me! Fierce men conspire against me for no offense or sin of mine, Lord.
4 I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me. Arise to help me; look on my plight!
5 You, Lord God Almighty, you who are the God of Israel,
rouse yourself to punish all the nations; show no mercy to wicked traitors.
6 They return at evening, snarling like dogs, and prowl about the city.
7 See what they spew from their mouths— the words from their lips are sharp as swords,
and they think, “Who can hear us?”
8 But you laugh at them, Lord; you scoff at all those nations.
9 You are my strength, I watch for you; you, God, are my fortress,
10 my God on whom I can rely. God will go before me and will let me gloat over those who slander me.
11 But do not kill them, Lord our shield,or my people will forget.
In your might uproot them and bring them down.
12 For the sins of their mouths, for the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride.
For the curses and lies they utter,
13 consume them in your wrath, consume them till they are no more.
Then it will be known to the ends of the earth that God rules over Jacob.
14 They return at evening, snarling like dogs, and prowl about the city.
15 They wander about for food and howl if not satisfied.
16 But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love;
for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
17 You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.

When Under Attack, Pray To God As David Did In Psalm 5

Saturday, February 4, 2017
By

These are interesting times. Many are feeling attacked by the enemy. Some are being lied on. Some may feel the enemy is literally chasing them.
It may even seem that those who are arrogant and full of pride are winning. But fear not!
I was reading my Bible and came across Psalm 5 where David was thought to be under attack by Saul who was looking to destroy him.
You need to read it. It will encourage you to pray to God just as David did. Remember God granted much favor and protection to David. He will do the same for you. Here is Psalm 5
1 Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament.
2 Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.
3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.
4 For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people are not welcome.
5 The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong;
6 you destroy those who tell lies. The bloodthirsty and deceitful you, Lord, detest.
7 But I, by your great love, can come into your house; in reverence I bow down toward your holy temple.
8 Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies— make your way straight before me.
9 Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with malice.
Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they tell lies.
10 Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall.
Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.
11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
12 Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

Your Troubles Won’t Last Forever, God Will Restore You, Psalm 126

Tuesday, December 20, 2016
By

When we get down and weary, we must remember who our God is and His love for us. Just as He delivered others from their sorrows, He will deliver YOU!
Be strong in Jesus! Be faithful in your strength. For the God of Israel is the same God of those who believe!

Read Psalm 126 below as a reminder of the God we serve and love.
Psalm 126
1 When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream!
2 We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.”
3 Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!
4 Restore our fortunes, Lord, as streams renew the desert.
5 Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy.
6 They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.

And remember Psalm 30:5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

Keep your head up!

You Never Know Who Or What God Will Use To Bless You

Saturday, November 28, 2015
By

I don’t care who you are or what you are going through, you never know who/what God will use to bless you. It could be a complete stranger helping you land a job, a high school classmate introducing you to your future spouse, an unexpected insurance refund. Who knows but God? We are told in Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you;He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.”

So do not fear. Do not be dismayed. God is your source, your strength, your provision. He knows what you need and when you need it.
He knows what you want. I’ve seen Him answer my prayers many times in the most unexpected ways.

He does that for those who believe in Him. He does that for His children. So cast your burdens unto Him and watch Him go to work.

5 Things That Unblock Blessings

Wednesday, April 8, 2015
By

Have you set goals but don’t seem to be making much ground? Do you have big dreams but run into so many obstacles? Does it seem for every step forward you end up taking two back? It happens to all of us at some point in our lives. But in reading the Bible I’ve come to understand there are four things that need to be in place for the blessings to flow and to have a major breakthrough in your life.

First, let me say that if God choses to bless you there is nothing you can do to stop Him. So even if the following things aren’t in place, and God wants to bless you, of course The Great Almighty will do so. But if you are experiencing your blessings being blocked, take note of the following that should be in place to receive the promises of God

1. You must be saved. You must invite Jesus into your heart as Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9-10 is proof of that:
Romans 10:9-10
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

If you are not saved, you can say the salvation prayer available on any of these videos.

The reason I stress being saved is because Jesus explains in John 15:4 (see below) that in order for us to bear fruit (be able to show/display our blessings) Jesus must live in us (again accomplished through salvation). In John 15, Jesus is the vine and we are the branch. The branch is nothing without the vine. The branch alone can not bear fruit without the vine. Simply put, we need Jesus in our hearts and Lord over our lives. Jesus goes on to explain in John 15:5 without him, we can not do anything. But don’t take my word for it, here is Jesus’s word:
John 15:4-5
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

So make sure you are saved.

2. You must read the Word Of God. You must meditate on the scripture in the Bible. There are no shortcuts to this. Doing this affirms all the promises God has made to you, and it builds your faith to believe that He will deliver on His promises. If you have no faith in what God can do, you can ask for a thing but that doesn’t require God to act on it because you have little or no faith. The Bible says in Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Jesus explains in John 15:7 that if his words (the scripture) are in you, whatever you ask for will be done. John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

3. Once you have read God’s word and have relevant scripture, speak God’s word out loud. Read it and say it with faith as you pray with God about the things you desire and need.

4. What you ask for must be in alignment with God’s will. If your request is His will, you have the word of God in you, you speak God’s word out loud, and are saved, God’s word will not return void. Isaiah 55:11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

5. The last thing to remember and understand we can not control, is God’s divine timing. No matter if you have done the previous four things, if it is not the right time for the blessing, it will not happen, yet. So be patient and wait in faith that God hears you and will deliver on His promises to you.
