{"id":17982,"date":"2017-09-20T17:54:08","date_gmt":"2017-09-20T23:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/20\/1-kings-51-18-websters-bible\/"},"modified":"2017-09-20T17:54:08","modified_gmt":"2017-09-20T23:54:08","slug":"1-kings-51-18-websters-bible","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/?p=17982","title":{"rendered":"1 Kings 5:1-18 (Webster&#8217;s Bible)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-4647651612525789\"; \/* access2God_horiz_4_link_single_post *\/ google_ad_slot = \"7824248799\"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<strong>1<\/strong> And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David. <\/br><strong>2<\/strong> And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying, <\/br><strong>3<\/strong> Thou knowest how that David my father could not build a house to the name of the LORD his God, for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet. <\/br><strong>4<\/strong> But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent. <\/br><strong>5<\/strong> And behold, I purpose to build a house to the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build a house to my name. <\/br><strong>6<\/strong> Now therefore command thou, that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and to thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that is skilled in hewing timber like the Sidonians. <\/br><strong>7<\/strong> And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, who hath given to David a wise son over this great people. <\/br><strong>8<\/strong> And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: and I will perform all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir. <\/br><strong>9<\/strong> My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats to the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive them: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household. <\/br><strong>10<\/strong> So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire. <\/br><strong>11<\/strong> And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year. <\/br><strong>12<\/strong> And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together. <\/br><strong>13<\/strong> And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men. <\/br><strong>14<\/strong> And he sent them to Lebanon ten thousand a month by courses; a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home.
