Scripture To Use During Any Storm (Financial, Sickness and Disease, Marital, Rebellious Children)

My, my, my these are some challenging times. But through salvation provided by the master plan of our Father God and the fulfillment of Jesus Christ, we are saved.

But as we go through the storms, many of us (including myself) are going through several at one time, we can hold unto the fact that God’s word is true and never returns void. So given that, we have hope. And we can use our faith to hold unto God’s word until we are on the other side of the storms.

With that in mind, I would like to share some nuggets. Use these inspired words from God as your safety net, your life preserve to get you through the storm. If you do this, you won’t lose your mind. You won’t have a nervous breakdown. You won’t take your own life. And remember, as bad as it seems, it could always be worse. You are going through the storms so God can show you where your true support system is. During these times, friends will come and go. During these times, you may even lose a romantic partner. During these times you may find the people you least expect to support you are the very ones who call you everyday with an encouraging word. And the ones you expect to have your back, are the very ones to disappoint you.
There is a reason for the storm. It is to bring you closer to God and to help you discern who really is in your corner. You will learn many things during the storm. And once you are on the other side, you can take that wisdom and share it with others to be a blessing.

But have faith and hold on to the scripture below to get you through this. Nothing stays the same. And when you are on the other side, make sure to bless those who went through the storm with you and those who God puts in your life at that time. God Bless you, you will prevail. In Jesus mighty name!

Trust God to give us everything we want:

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (King James Version)

7Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
8For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Psalm 125:1 (King James Version)
1They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

Psalm 91 (trust and protection)
1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
 5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
 9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Use God’s Word to achieve victory. It doesn’t return void:

Isaiah 55:11 (God speaks to His children, God says it and that settles it)
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Remember God is the provider who prospers us and wants us to prosper:

Deuteronomy 8:18
But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
3 John 1:2
2Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

God gives us power and authority thru the name of Jesus:
Luke 10:19

19Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.

God will do the fighting for us:
Exodus 14:14

14The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Know that He is God and will be exalted:
Psalms 46:10-11
(King James Version)

10Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Know that whatever it is you are wanting, you can have it in Jesus name!

Mark 11:24
24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Amplified:
24For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].

1 John 5:13-15

13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Thank God that He is true and that His Words can be used as weapons for we fight against spirits. The Word is spirit. Use it to get the victory!!

John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Reasons To Believe God Exists

Tuesday, July 22, 2008
By

I don’t understand how someone can not see that God exists. I respect their opinion, because it truly is an opinion and not fact. But I do wonder how people can overlook the miracle that we exist. We had to be created on the right planet, galaxy, in the right position in the universe.

As I struggle with ways to explain the existence of God, I have searched for sites that explain it better than me. I found one perfect site, http://www.everystudent.com/features/isthere.html.

If you or anyone you know needs a reason to believe, read the content at EveryStudent.com.

If you still do not believe in God, feel free to post your comments so we can discuss your reasons.

Meanwhile, I want to reference

Psalm 8:3-9

3 When I consider your heavens,
       the work of your fingers,
       the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,

4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?

5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings [c]
and crowned him with glory and honor.

 6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet:

 7 all flocks and herds,
and the beasts of the field,

8 the birds of the air,
and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

 9 O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Verse 3 alone is enough for me to believe.

Basic Instructions Before We Leave Earth

Tuesday, July 15, 2008
By

As we approach every day, some things really should be natural and common sense for us to carry out.
But through the hurts, pains, disappointments we experience, if we are not careful, our hearts become hardened.

To me there is no reason for a Christian not to speak to another (or anyone for that matter). It is sad to visit a church where people have been so hurt that when greeted with a smile and/or the words “Hello” they fail to respond with a cheerful heart.

Everyone has been hurt and will be tested. But through it all we know the battle is won and that we are saved through Jesus Christ (our access to God). You never know when your words, smile, time, hug, laughter, and ear may stop someone from making a tragic choice. You never know how God may use you strategically to lift someone’s spirit (just in time).

So I want to reference scripture in the Bible that is a subset of God’s basic instructions before we leave Earth.

I encourage you to read

Ephesians 4:25-32

25Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26″In your anger do not sin”[d]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27and do not give the devil a foothold. 28He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.

29Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Let us all work on ourselves so that we can be a better vehicle/vessel for God to accomplish His goals. You are here for a purpose. So open your soul, spirit, and temple (your body and house) to be used by God for His kingdom’s sake.

God Bless You

Words Of Encouragement For The Unemployed

Tuesday, July 8, 2008
By

No matter how long someone is unemployed, at times there is a tendency to be worried. We are human and the flesh is weak. Though I have faith in God and the steps that He has ordered me to take, I did have a bout with worry.

But as always God is right there with me. At the very moment I began to shed a few tears, a good friend of mine that I had not heard from in a while and who is also a Christian sent me a text message of encouragement. After exchanging messages back and forth, I felt better.

But as time went by (about a couple of hours) the flesh became weak again. I cried again but through the tears I repeatedly thanked God. I told God I know I will reach the other side of this storm because He is with me. I told God and Jesus that I love them.

Then a recruiter called me about an opportunity for a company I worked for as a contractor several years ago. I do not know how this opportunity will turn out. But my point is that God is showing me in different ways that He is right there. He knows what I am going through. And I am making a point to praise Him and love Him as I go through this period of unemployment.

So I wanted to find some relevant scripture that I could share with you. I want to encourage you to read Luke 12:22-31 which tells us not to worry and to listen to the song I included below. God knows we have needs. So if you are unemployed or you are lacking, know that God is with you and He knows what you are going through.  Here is

Luke 12:22-31

22Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]? 26Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

27“Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

Here is a song by James Fortune and FIYA called “Trust The Lord”

Update: 4/6/2012

God truly has a plan for you as He does for me. Since I made this blog post back in 2008, it is now 4/6/2012. I have been employed with the same employer for almost 4 years now! God is so good. Not only that. I couldn’t ask for a better boss and team of co-workers. My boss understands the need for a balance between work and life. As a single parent, it really helps. But that’s just the beginning of how God allowed me to go through unemployment to take me to the next level (to elevate me). I am at a job with several weeks vacation and I’m able to work from home up to 3 days a week. I said all that to say, that No weapon formed against you shall prosper. Trust in the Lord, there is a reason for this season. God knows what He is doing. All you have to do is simply believe! Keep pushing and searching for work. God will meet your need! I am truly a witness and I’ve been through unemployment a few times. Your blessing is coming soon my friend! In Jesus name.

Update: 2/1/2015
Here I am, almost seven years later. I am still employed with the same company that God led to bring me out of unemployment. I’ve prospered so much at and through this job. I’m so incredibly blessed. I’m now Team Lead over my group of peers at the company. I’ve been blessed in ways you’d never imagine and ways that I didn’t see coming. God is so good my friend! Don’t give up! God will bring you out of the storm and elevate you on top of it! Remember to TRUST HIM!

Lastly, don’t be too proud to reach out to 24 hour prayer lines.

Walking in love,

Healing Scripture (A Remedy For Any Affliction or Ailment)

Tuesday, July 1, 2008
By

In reading the posts on this blog, I noticed a disturbing trend… I have not made enough references to relevant scripture. Because God has given us many tools (scripture) to use in our everyday lives, I could not decide on a topic to address where God’s word should be shared in this posting.

Then, I received phone calls from two friends requesting I pray for them. One, a lady, was dealing with a tumor that she had been told she had. The other, a man, was dealing with spiritual attacks that were manifested by poor words he chose to use and uncharacteristic behavior.

So I started thinking that we all are dealing with some type of battle on an ongoing basis (sickness, unemployment, envy, a heavy heart, unforgiveness, lusts…etc). And if we aren’t we will.

So it only makes sense to pray for healing. We need healing of our bodies, our minds, our souls. Some of us may be on the brink of mental illness, depression, etc.. Some of us are weak in our battle against strongholds. No matter what the delimma, we are constantly attacked and it can take it’s toil if we are not careful.

But through salvation we are healed, in Jesus name!

So I am going to share a list of scripture that you can find in the Bible that deals with healing. This list is not exhaustive, and this particular list of scripture comes from the site http://www.savedhealed.com/healing.htm.

I recommend you read the scriptures below repeatedly until they reach your spirit. And take time to read them both as they are and read them replacing your name wherever you see appropriate pronouns in the scripture.

Enjoy and God Bless You:

Proverbs 4:20-22

“My Son, attend to My words; incline thine ear unto My sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health (Lit. medicine) to all their flesh.”

Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal (Natural, Earthly) bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

Deuteronomy 7:15

“And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you.”

Mark 16:17-18

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name . . . they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Psalm 34:19

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.”

“Thy light shall break forth as the morning, and thy health shall spring forth speedily; and thy righteousness shall go before thee: the glory of the Lord shall be thy rear guard.”

Jeremiah 17:14

“Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.”

James 5:14-15

“Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”

Exodus 23:25

“So you shall serve (worship) the Lord your God and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.”
Malachi 4:2-3

“But unto you that fear (reverence, worship) My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. You shall trample the wicked for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this says the Lord of hosts”

“O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.”
