{"id":20105,"date":"2017-09-23T14:40:29","date_gmt":"2017-09-23T20:40:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/23\/proverbs-261-28-world-english-bible\/"},"modified":"2017-09-23T14:40:29","modified_gmt":"2017-09-23T20:40:29","slug":"proverbs-261-28-world-english-bible","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/?p=20105","title":{"rendered":"Proverbs 26:1-28 (World English Bible)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-4647651612525789\"; \/* access2God_horiz_4_link_single_post *\/ google_ad_slot = \"7824248799\"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<strong>1<\/strong> Like snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, So honor is not fitting for a fool. <\/br><strong>2<\/strong> Like a fluttering sparrow, Like a darting swallow, So the undeserved curse doesn&#8217;t come to rest. <\/br><strong>3<\/strong> A whip for the horse, A bridle for the donkey, And a rod for the back of fools! <\/br><strong>4<\/strong> Don&#8217;t answer a fool according to his folly, Lest you also be like him. <\/br><strong>5<\/strong> Answer a fool according to his folly, Lest he be wise in his own eyes. <\/br><strong>6<\/strong> One who sends a message by the hand of a fool Is cutting off feet and drinking violence. <\/br><strong>7<\/strong> Like the legs of the lame that hang loose: So is a parable in the mouth of fools. <\/br><strong>8<\/strong> As one who binds a stone in a sling, So is he who gives honor to a fool. <\/br><strong>9<\/strong> Like a thornbush that goes into the hand of a drunkard, So is a parable in the mouth of fools. <\/br><strong>10<\/strong> As an archer who wounds all, So is he who hires a fool Or he who hires those who pass by. <\/br><strong>11<\/strong> As a dog that returns to his vomit, So is a fool who repeats his folly. <\/br><strong>12<\/strong> Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. <\/br><strong>13<\/strong> The sluggard says, &#8220;There is a lion in the road! A fierce lion roams the streets!&#8221; <\/br><strong>14<\/strong> As the door turns on its hinges, So does the sluggard on his bed. <\/br><strong>15<\/strong> The sluggard buries his hand in the dish. He is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth. <\/br><strong>16<\/strong> The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes Than seven men who answer with discretion. <\/br><strong>17<\/strong> Like one who grabs a dog&#8217;s ears Is one who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own. <\/br><strong>18<\/strong> Like a madman who shoots firebrands, arrows, and death, <\/br><strong>19<\/strong> Is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, &#8220;Am I not joking?&#8221; <\/br><strong>20<\/strong> For lack of wood a fire goes out; Without gossip, a quarrel dies down. <\/br><strong>21<\/strong> As coals are to hot embers, And wood to fire, So is a contentious man to kindling strife. <\/br><strong>22<\/strong> The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels, They go down into the innermost parts. <\/br><strong>23<\/strong> Like silver dross on an earthen vessel Are the lips of a fervent one with an evil heart. <\/br><strong>24<\/strong> A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, But he harbors evil in his heart. <\/br><strong>25<\/strong> When his speech is charming, don&#8217;t believe him; For there are seven abominations in his heart: <\/br><strong>26<\/strong> His malice may be concealed by deception, But his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. <\/br><strong>27<\/strong> Whoever digs a pit shall fall into it. Whoever rolls a stone, it will come back on him. <\/br><strong>28<\/strong> A lying tongue hates those it hurts; And a flattering mouth works ruin. <\/br><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\n
