{"id":20130,"date":"2017-09-23T14:40:37","date_gmt":"2017-09-23T20:40:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/23\/proverbs-11-33-world-english-bible\/"},"modified":"2017-09-23T14:40:37","modified_gmt":"2017-09-23T20:40:37","slug":"proverbs-11-33-world-english-bible","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/?p=20130","title":{"rendered":"Proverbs 1:1-33 (World English Bible)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-4647651612525789\"; \/* access2God_horiz_4_link_single_post *\/ google_ad_slot = \"7824248799\"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<strong>1<\/strong> The proverbs of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel: <\/br><strong>2<\/strong> To know wisdom and instruction; To discern the words of understanding; <\/br><strong>3<\/strong> To receive instruction in wise dealing, In righteousness, justice, and equity; <\/br><strong>4<\/strong> To give prudence to the simple, Knowledge and discretion to the young man: <\/br><strong>5<\/strong> That the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; That the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel: <\/br><strong>6<\/strong> To understand a proverb, and parables, The words and riddles of the wise. <\/br><strong>7<\/strong> The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; But the foolish despise wisdom and instruction. <\/br><strong>8<\/strong> My son, listen to your father&#8217;s instruction, And don&#8217;t forsake your mother&#8217;s teaching: <\/br><strong>9<\/strong> For they will be a garland to grace your head, And chains around your neck. <\/br><strong>10<\/strong> My son, if sinners entice you, don&#8217;t consent. <\/br><strong>11<\/strong> If they say, &#8220;Come with us, Let&#8217;s lay in wait for blood; Let&#8217;s lurk secretly for the innocent without cause; <\/br><strong>12<\/strong> Let&#8217;s swallow them up alive like Sheol, And whole, like those who go down into the pit. <\/br><strong>13<\/strong> We&#8217;ll find all valuable wealth. We&#8217;ll fill our houses with spoil. <\/br><strong>14<\/strong> You shall cast your lot among us. We&#8217;ll all have one purse.&#8221; <\/br><strong>15<\/strong> My son, don&#8217;t walk in the way with them. Keep your foot from their path, <\/br><strong>16<\/strong> For their feet run to evil. They hurry to shed blood. <\/br><strong>17<\/strong> For in vain is the net spread in the sight of any bird: <\/br><strong>18<\/strong> But these lay wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives. <\/br><strong>19<\/strong> So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain. It takes away the life of its owners. <\/br><strong>20<\/strong> Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares. <\/br><strong>21<\/strong> She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words: <\/br><strong>22<\/strong> &#8220;How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, And fools hate knowledge? <\/br><strong>23<\/strong> Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you. <\/br><strong>24<\/strong> Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention; <\/br><strong>25<\/strong> But you have ignored all my counsel, And wanted none of my reproof; <\/br><strong>26<\/strong> I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you; <\/br><strong>27<\/strong> When calamity overtakes you like a storm, When your disaster comes on like a whirlwind; When distress and anguish come on you. <\/br><strong>28<\/strong> Then will they call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me; <\/br><strong>29<\/strong> Because they hated knowledge, And didn&#8217;t choose the fear of Yahweh. <\/br><strong>30<\/strong> They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof. <\/br><strong>31<\/strong> Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, And be filled with their own schemes. <\/br><strong>32<\/strong> For the backsliding of the simple will kill them.
