{"id":20294,"date":"2017-09-23T14:43:38","date_gmt":"2017-09-23T20:43:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/23\/job-291-25-world-english-bible\/"},"modified":"2017-09-23T14:43:38","modified_gmt":"2017-09-23T20:43:38","slug":"job-291-25-world-english-bible","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/?p=20294","title":{"rendered":"Job 29:1-25 (World English Bible)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-4647651612525789\"; \/* access2God_horiz_4_link_single_post *\/ google_ad_slot = \"7824248799\"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<strong>1<\/strong> Job again took up his parable, and said, <\/br><strong>2<\/strong> &#8220;Oh that I were as in the months of old, As in the days when God watched over me; <\/br><strong>3<\/strong> When his lamp shone on my head, And by his light I walked through darkness; <\/br><strong>4<\/strong> As I was in the ripeness of my days, When the friendship of God was in my tent; <\/br><strong>5<\/strong> When the Almighty was yet with me, And my children were around me; <\/br><strong>6<\/strong> When my steps were washed with butter, And the rock poured out streams of oil for me! <\/br><strong>7<\/strong> When I went forth to the city gate, When I prepared my seat in the street, <\/br><strong>8<\/strong> The young men saw me and hid themselves, The aged rose up and stood; <\/br><strong>9<\/strong> The princes refrained from talking, And laid their hand on their mouth; <\/br><strong>10<\/strong> The voice of the nobles was hushed, And their tongue stuck to the roof of their mouth. <\/br><strong>11<\/strong> For when the ear heard me, then it blessed me; And when the eye saw me, it commended me: <\/br><strong>12<\/strong> Because I delivered the poor who cried, And the fatherless also, who had none to help him. <\/br><strong>13<\/strong> The blessing of him who was ready to perish came on me, And I caused the widow&#8217;s heart to sing for joy. <\/br><strong>14<\/strong> I put on righteousness, and it clothed me. My justice was as a robe and a diadem. <\/br><strong>15<\/strong> I was eyes to the blind, And feet to the lame. <\/br><strong>16<\/strong> I was a father to the needy. The cause of him who I didn&#8217;t know, I searched out. <\/br><strong>17<\/strong> I broke the jaws of the unrighteous, And plucked the prey out of his teeth. <\/br><strong>18<\/strong> Then I said, &#8216;I shall die in my own house, I shall number my days as the sand. <\/br><strong>19<\/strong> My root is spread out to the waters, The dew lies all night on my branch; <\/br><strong>20<\/strong> My glory is fresh in me, My bow is renewed in my hand.&#8217; <\/br><strong>21<\/strong> &#8220;Men listened to me, waited, And kept silence for my counsel. <\/br><strong>22<\/strong> After my words they didn&#8217;t speak again; My speech fell on them. <\/br><strong>23<\/strong> They waited for me as for the rain. Their mouths drank as with the spring rain. <\/br><strong>24<\/strong> I smiled on them when they had no confidence. They didn&#8217;t reject the light of my face. <\/br><strong>25<\/strong> I chose out their way, and sat as chief.
