{"id":22223,"date":"2017-09-30T14:25:04","date_gmt":"2017-09-30T20:25:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/30\/1-timothy-51-25-darby-english-bible\/"},"modified":"2017-09-30T14:25:04","modified_gmt":"2017-09-30T20:25:04","slug":"1-timothy-51-25-darby-english-bible","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/?p=22223","title":{"rendered":"1 Timothy 5:1-25 (Darby English Bible)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-4647651612525789\"; \/* access2God_horiz_4_link_single_post *\/ google_ad_slot = \"7824248799\"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<strong>1<\/strong> Rebuke not an elder sharply, but exhort [him] as a father, younger [men] as brethren, <\/br><strong>2<\/strong> elder women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity. <\/br><strong>3<\/strong> Honour widows who are really widows; <\/br><strong>4<\/strong> but if any widow have children or descendants, let them learn first to be pious as regards their own house, and to render a return on their side to [their] parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God. <\/br><strong>5<\/strong> Now she who [is] a widow indeed, and is left alone, has put [her] hope in God, and continues in supplications and prayers night and day. <\/br><strong>6<\/strong> But she that lives in habits of self-indulgence is dead [while] living. <\/br><strong>7<\/strong> And these things enjoin, that they may be irreproachable. <\/br><strong>8<\/strong> But if any one does not provide for his own, and specially for those of [his] house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than the unbeliever. <\/br><strong>9<\/strong> Let a widow be put upon the list, being of not less than sixty years, [having been] wife of one man, <\/br><strong>10<\/strong> borne witness to in good works, if she have brought up children, if she have exercised hospitality, if she have washed saints&#8217; feet, if she have imparted relief to the distressed, if she have diligently followed every good work. <\/br><strong>11<\/strong> But younger widows decline; for when they grow wanton against Christ, they desire to marry, <\/br><strong>12<\/strong> being guilty, because they have cast off their first faith. <\/br><strong>13<\/strong> And, at the same time, they learn also [to be] idle, going about to people&#8217;s houses; and not only idle, but also gossipers and meddlers, speaking things not becoming. <\/br><strong>14<\/strong> I will therefore that the younger marry, bear children, rule the house, give no occasion to the adversary in respect of reproach. <\/br><strong>15<\/strong> For already some have turned aside after Satan. <\/br><strong>16<\/strong> If any believing man or woman have widows, let them impart relief to them, and let not the assembly be charged, that it may impart relief to those [that are] widows indeed. <\/br><strong>17<\/strong> Let the elders who take the lead [among the saints] well be esteemed worthy of double honour, specially those labouring in word and teaching; <\/br><strong>18<\/strong> for the scripture says, Thou shalt not muzzle an ox that treadeth out corn, and, The workman [is] worthy of his hire. <\/br><strong>19<\/strong> Against an elder receive not an accusation unless where there are two or three witnesses. <\/br><strong>20<\/strong> Those that sin convict before all, that the rest also may have fear. <\/br><strong>21<\/strong> I testify before God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, that thou keep these things without prejudice, doing nothing by favour. <\/br><strong>22<\/strong> Lay hands quickly on no man, nor partake in others&#8217; sins. Keep thyself pure. <\/br><strong>23<\/strong> Drink no longer only water, but use a little wine on account of thy stomach and thy frequent illnesses. <\/br><strong>24<\/strong> Of some men the sins are manifest beforehand, going before to judgment, and some also they follow after. <\/br><strong>25<\/strong> In like manner good works also are manifest beforehand, and those that are otherwise
