{"id":22225,"date":"2017-09-30T14:25:04","date_gmt":"2017-09-30T20:25:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/30\/1-timothy-31-16-darby-english-bible\/"},"modified":"2017-09-30T14:25:04","modified_gmt":"2017-09-30T20:25:04","slug":"1-timothy-31-16-darby-english-bible","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/?p=22225","title":{"rendered":"1 Timothy 3:1-16 (Darby English Bible)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-4647651612525789\"; \/* access2God_horiz_4_link_single_post *\/ google_ad_slot = \"7824248799\"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<strong>1<\/strong> The word [is] faithful: if any one aspires to exercise oversight, he desires a good work. <\/br><strong>2<\/strong> The overseer then must be irreproachable, husband of one wife, sober, discreet, decorous, hospitable, apt to teach; <\/br><strong>3<\/strong> not given to excesses from wine, not a striker, but mild, not addicted to contention, not fond of money, <\/br><strong>4<\/strong> conducting his own house well, having [his] children in subjection with all gravity; <\/br><strong>5<\/strong> (but if one does not know how to conduct his own house, how shall he take care of the assembly of God?) <\/br><strong>6<\/strong> not a novice, that he may not, being inflated, fall into [the] fault of the devil. <\/br><strong>7<\/strong> But it is necessary that he should have also a good testimony from those without, that he may fall not into reproach and [the] snare of the devil. <\/br><strong>8<\/strong> Ministers, in like manner, grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not seeking gain by base means, <\/br><strong>9<\/strong> holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. <\/br><strong>10<\/strong> And let these be first proved, then let them minister, being without charge [against them]. <\/br><strong>11<\/strong> [The] women in like manner grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. <\/br><strong>12<\/strong> Let [the] ministers be husbands of one wife, conducting [their] children and their own houses well: <\/br><strong>13<\/strong> for those who shall have ministered well obtain for themselves a good degree, and much boldness in faith which [is] in Christ Jesus. <\/br><strong>14<\/strong> These things I write to thee, hoping to come to thee more quickly; <\/br><strong>15<\/strong> but if I delay, in order that thou mayest know how one ought to conduct oneself in God&#8217;s house, which is [the] assembly of [the] living God, [the] pillar and base of the truth. <\/br><strong>16<\/strong> And confessedly the mystery of piety is great. God has been manifested in flesh, has been justified in [the] Spirit, has appeared to angels, has been preached among [the] nations, has been believed on in [the] world, has been received up in glory.
