<\/br><strong>2<\/strong> Me hath he led, and brought into darkness, and not into light. <\/br><strong>3<\/strong> Surely against me hath he turned again and again his hand all the day. <\/br><strong>4<\/strong> My flesh and my skin hath he wasted away, he hath broken my bones. <\/br><strong>5<\/strong> He hath built against me, and encompassed [me] with gall and toil. <\/br><strong>6<\/strong> He hath made me to dwell in dark places as those that have been long dead. <\/br><strong>7<\/strong> He hath hedged me about that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy. <\/br><strong>8<\/strong> Even when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer. <\/br><strong>9<\/strong> He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked. <\/br><strong>10<\/strong> He is unto me [as] a bear lying in wait, a lion in secret places. <\/br><strong>11<\/strong> He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he hath made me desolate. <\/br><strong>12<\/strong> He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow. <\/br><strong>13<\/strong> He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins. <\/br><strong>14<\/strong> I am become a derision to all my people; their song all the day. <\/br><strong>15<\/strong> He hath sated me with bitterness, he hath made me drunk with wormwood. <\/br><strong>16<\/strong> He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes. <\/br><strong>17<\/strong> And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I have forgotten prosperity. <\/br><strong>18<\/strong> And I said, My strength is perished, and my hope in Jehovah. <\/br><strong>19<\/strong> Remember thou mine affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and the gall. <\/br><strong>20<\/strong> My soul hath [them] constantly in remembrance, and is humbled in me. <\/br><strong>21<\/strong> &#8212; This I recall to heart, therefore have I hope. <\/br><strong>22<\/strong> It is of Jehovah&#8217;s loving-kindness we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not; <\/br><strong>23<\/strong> they are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. <\/br><strong>24<\/strong> Jehovah is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. <\/br><strong>25<\/strong> Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul [that] seeketh him. <\/br><strong>26<\/strong> It is good that one should both wait, and that in silence, for the salvation of Jehovah. <\/br><strong>27<\/strong> It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth: <\/br><strong>28<\/strong> He sitteth solitary and keepeth silence, because he hath laid it upon him; <\/br><strong>29<\/strong> he putteth his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope; <\/br><strong>30<\/strong> he giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him; he is filled full with reproach. <\/br><strong>31<\/strong> For the Lord will not cast off for ever; <\/br><strong>32<\/strong> but if he have caused grief, he will have compassion according to the multitude of his loving-kindnesses: <\/br><strong>33<\/strong> for he doth not willingly afflict or grieve the children of men. <\/br><strong>34<\/strong> To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth, <\/br><strong>35<\/strong> to turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High, <\/br><strong>36<\/strong> to wrong a man in his cause, &#8212; will not the Lord see it? <\/br><strong>37<\/strong> Who is he that saith, and there cometh to pass, what the Lord hath not commanded? <\/br><strong>38<\/strong> Out of the mouth of the Most High doth not there proceed evil and good? <\/br><strong>39<\/strong> Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? <\/br><strong>40<\/strong> Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah. <\/br><strong>41<\/strong> Let us lift up our heart with [our] hands unto \u00f9God in the heavens. <\/br><strong>42<\/strong> We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned. <\/br><strong>43<\/strong> Thou hast covered thyself with anger, and pursued us; thou hast slain, thou hast not spared. <\/br><strong>44<\/strong> Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that prayer should not pass through. <\/br><strong>45<\/strong> Thou hast made us the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples. <\/br><strong>46<\/strong> All our enemies have opened their mouth against us. <\/br><strong>47<\/strong> Fear and the pit are come upon us, devastation and ruin. <\/br><strong>48<\/strong> Mine eye runneth down with streams of water for the ruin of the daughter of my people. <\/br><strong>49<\/strong> Mine eye poureth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission, <\/br><strong>50<\/strong> till Jehovah look down and behold from the heavens. <\/br><strong>51<\/strong> Mine eye affecteth my soul, because of all the daughters of my city. <\/br><strong>52<\/strong> They that are mine enemies without cause have chased me sore like a bird. <\/br><strong>53<\/strong> They have cut off my life in a pit, and cast a stone upon me. <\/br><strong>54<\/strong> Waters streamed over my head; I said, I am cut off. <\/br><strong>55<\/strong> I called upon thy name, Jehovah, out of the lowest pit. <\/br><strong>56<\/strong> Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my sighing, at my cry. <\/br><strong>57<\/strong> Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee; thou saidst, Fear not. <\/br><strong>58<\/strong> Lord, thou hast pleaded the cause of my soul, thou hast redeemed my life. <\/br><strong>59<\/strong> Jehovah, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause. <\/br><strong>60<\/strong> Thou hast seen all their vengeance, all their imaginations against me. <\/br><strong>61<\/strong> Thou hast heard their reproach, O Jehovah, all their imaginations against me; <\/br><strong>62<\/strong> the lips of those that rise up against me and their meditation against me all the day. <\/br><strong>63<\/strong> Behold thou their sitting down and their rising up: I am their song. <\/br><strong>64<\/strong> Render unto them a recompence, O Jehovah, according to the work of their hands; <\/br><strong>65<\/strong> give them obduracy of heart, thy curse unto them; <\/br><strong>66<\/strong> pursue them in
