{"id":22880,"date":"2017-09-30T14:34:12","date_gmt":"2017-09-30T20:34:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/30\/job-311-40-darby-english-bible\/"},"modified":"2017-09-30T14:34:12","modified_gmt":"2017-09-30T20:34:12","slug":"job-311-40-darby-english-bible","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/?p=22880","title":{"rendered":"Job 31:1-40 (Darby English Bible)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-4647651612525789\"; \/* access2God_horiz_4_link_single_post *\/ google_ad_slot = \"7824248799\"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<strong>1<\/strong> I made a covenant with mine eyes; and how should I fix my regard upon a maid? <\/br><strong>2<\/strong> For what would have been [my] portion of +God from above, and what the heritage of the Almighty from on high? <\/br><strong>3<\/strong> Is not calamity for the unrighteous? and misfortune for the workers of iniquity? <\/br><strong>4<\/strong> Doth not he see my ways, and number all my steps? <\/br><strong>5<\/strong> If I have walked with falsehood, and my foot hath hasted to deceit, <\/br><strong>6<\/strong> (Let me be weighed in an even balance, and +God will take knowledge of my blamelessness;) <\/br><strong>7<\/strong> If my step have turned out of the way, and my heart followed mine eyes, and if any blot cleaveth to my hands; <\/br><strong>8<\/strong> Let me sow, and another eat; and let mine offspring be rooted out. <\/br><strong>9<\/strong> If my heart have been enticed unto a woman, so that I laid wait at my neighbour&#8217;s door, <\/br><strong>10<\/strong> Let my wife grind for another, and let others bow down upon her. <\/br><strong>11<\/strong> For this is an infamy; yea, it is an iniquity [to be judged by] the judges: <\/br><strong>12<\/strong> For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase. <\/br><strong>13<\/strong> If I have despised the cause of my bondman or of my bondmaid, when they contended with me, <\/br><strong>14<\/strong> What then should I do when \u00f9God riseth up? and if he visited, what should I answer him? <\/br><strong>15<\/strong> Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not One fashion us in the womb? <\/br><strong>16<\/strong> If I have withheld the poor from [their] desire, or caused the eyes of the widow to fail; <\/br><strong>17<\/strong> Or have eaten my morsel alone, so that the fatherless ate not thereof, <\/br><strong>18<\/strong> (For from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, and I have guided the [widow] from my mother&#8217;s womb;) <\/br><strong>19<\/strong> If I have seen any perishing for want of clothing, or any needy without covering; <\/br><strong>20<\/strong> If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my lambs; <\/br><strong>21<\/strong> If I have lifted up my hand against an orphan, because I saw my help in the gate: <\/br><strong>22<\/strong> [Then] let my shoulder fall from the shoulder-blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone! <\/br><strong>23<\/strong> For calamity from \u00f9God was a terror to me, and by reason of his excellency I was powerless. <\/br><strong>24<\/strong> If I have made gold my hope, or said to the fine gold, My confidence! <\/br><strong>25<\/strong> If I rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because my hand had gotten much; <\/br><strong>26<\/strong> If I beheld the sun when it shone, or the moon walking in brightness, <\/br><strong>27<\/strong> And my heart have been secretly enticed, so that my mouth kissed my hand: <\/br><strong>28<\/strong> This also would be an iniquity for the judge, for I should have denied the \u00f9God who is above. <\/br><strong>29<\/strong> If I rejoiced at the destruction of him that hated me, and exulted when evil befell him; <\/br><strong>30<\/strong> (Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by asking his life with a curse;) <\/br><strong>31<\/strong> If the men of my tent said not, Who shall find one that hath not been satisfied with his meat? &#8212; <\/br><strong>32<\/strong> The stranger did not lodge without; I opened my doors to the pathway. <\/br><strong>33<\/strong> If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom, <\/br><strong>34<\/strong> Because I feared the great multitude, and the contempt of families terrified me, so that I kept silence, and went not out of the door, &#8230; <\/br><strong>35<\/strong> Oh that I had one to hear me! Behold my signature: let the Almighty answer me! And let mine opponent write an accusation! <\/br><strong>36<\/strong> Would I not take it upon my shoulder? I would bind it on to me [as] a crown; <\/br><strong>37<\/strong> I would declare unto him the number of my steps; as a prince would I come near to him. <\/br><strong>38<\/strong> If my land cry out against me, and its furrows weep together; <\/br><strong>39<\/strong> If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, and have tormented to death the souls of its owners: <\/br><strong>40<\/strong> Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and tares instead of barley.
