{"id":24602,"date":"2017-09-30T15:50:57","date_gmt":"2017-09-30T21:50:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/30\/1-timothy-51-25-american-standard-version\/"},"modified":"2017-09-30T15:50:57","modified_gmt":"2017-09-30T21:50:57","slug":"1-timothy-51-25-american-standard-version","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/?p=24602","title":{"rendered":"1 Timothy 5:1-25 (American Standard Version)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-4647651612525789\"; \/* access2God_horiz_4_link_single_post *\/ google_ad_slot = \"7824248799\"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<strong>1<\/strong> Rebuke not an elder, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brethren: <\/br><strong>2<\/strong> the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity. <\/br><strong>3<\/strong> Honor widows that are widows indeed. <\/br><strong>4<\/strong> But if any widow hath children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family, and to requite their parents: for this is acceptable in the sight of God. <\/br><strong>5<\/strong> Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, hath her hope set on God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day. <\/br><strong>6<\/strong> But she that giveth herself to pleasure is dead while she liveth. <\/br><strong>7<\/strong> These things also command, that they may be without reproach. <\/br><strong>8<\/strong> But if any provideth not for his own, and specially his own household, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. <\/br><strong>9<\/strong> Let none be enrolled as a widow under threescore years old, `having been&#8217; the wife of one man, <\/br><strong>10<\/strong> well reported of for good works; if she hath brought up children, if she hath used hospitality to strangers, if she hath washed the saints&#8217; feet, if she hath relieved the afflicted, if she hath diligently followed every good work. <\/br><strong>11<\/strong> But younger widows refuse: for when they have waxed wanton against Christ, they desire to marry; <\/br><strong>12<\/strong> having condemnation, because they have rejected their first pledge. <\/br><strong>13<\/strong> And withal they learn also `to be&#8217; idle, going about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. <\/br><strong>14<\/strong> I desire therefore that the younger `widows&#8217; marry, bear children, rule the household, give no occasion to the adversary for reviling: <\/br><strong>15<\/strong> for already some are turned aside after Satan. <\/br><strong>16<\/strong> If any woman that believeth hath widows, let her relieve them, and let not the church be burdened; that it mat relieve them that are widows indeed. <\/br><strong>17<\/strong> Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching. <\/br><strong>18<\/strong> For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn. And, The laborer is worthy of his hire. <\/br><strong>19<\/strong> Against an elder receive not an accusation, except at `the mouth of&#8217; two or three witnesses. <\/br><strong>20<\/strong> Them that sin reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear. <\/br><strong>21<\/strong> I charge `thee&#8217; in the sight of God, and Christ Jesus, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality. <\/br><strong>22<\/strong> Lay hands hastily on no man, neither be partaker of other men&#8217;s sins: keep thyself pure. <\/br><strong>23<\/strong> Be no longer a drinker of water, but use a little wine for thy stomach&#8217;s sake and thine often infirmities. <\/br><strong>24<\/strong> Some men&#8217;s sins are evident, going before unto judgment;
