{"id":25785,"date":"2017-09-30T16:28:17","date_gmt":"2017-09-30T22:28:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/30\/titus-11-16-king-james-version\/"},"modified":"2017-09-30T16:28:17","modified_gmt":"2017-09-30T22:28:17","slug":"titus-11-16-king-james-version","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.accesstogod.com\/?p=25785","title":{"rendered":"Titus 1:1-16 (King James Version)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-4647651612525789\"; \/* access2God_horiz_4_link_single_post *\/ google_ad_slot = \"7824248799\"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><br \/>\n<strong>1<\/strong> Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God&#8217;s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; <\/br><strong>2<\/strong> In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; <\/br><strong>3<\/strong> But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; <\/br><strong>4<\/strong> To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. <\/br><strong>5<\/strong> For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: <\/br><strong>6<\/strong> If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. <\/br><strong>7<\/strong> For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; <\/br><strong>8<\/strong> But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; <\/br><strong>9<\/strong> Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. <\/br><strong>10<\/strong> For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: <\/br><strong>11<\/strong> Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre&#8217;s sake. <\/br><strong>12<\/strong> One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. <\/br><strong>13<\/strong> This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; <\/br><strong>14<\/strong> Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. <\/br><strong>15<\/strong> Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. <\/br><strong>16<\/strong> They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. <\/br><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\n    google_ad_client =
