A Place To Learn and Share Knowledge About Christianity As We Seek Peace of Mind Which Comes By Getting To Know Jesus Christ (The Only True Access To God)
No one can ever tell me that there is no God and that He does not perform miracles. I also have learned to not dismiss things as coincidence. The Associated Press reported a woman who was dead for at least 15 minutes suddenly awakes after family prayer and a miracle from God. For more information, take a look at the video below:
Two things stand out to me in this video: 1. Prayer done by a nephew 2. the delay in pulling the “dead” woman off life support because of being an organ donor. Some would think the second one was a matter of coincidence, but I disagree. These events were used by God for His glory. He exists! He lives! And by grace, mercy, and salvation so do we in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! Hallelujah!
I was unexpectedly downsized by my employer last Thursday (May 15, 2008). And my first reaction was “okay”. After all, I had been through unemployment when the IT Industry collapsed around 2001 for me. Interestingly enough, I had just started to rebuild financially and had an increasing credit score to prove it. I had been able to start re-furnishing my house after going through a divorce in 2006. It takes a while to build up when your life is turned upside down. So here I am again in a similar predicament. But this time my faith is stronger. This time I actually have a relationship with God. As I reminisce on what I went through the first time I was unemployed, I remember that it was difficult to go through but when I got to the other side, I was a better person. I found out who really “had my back”. I drew closer to God. And ultimately, I ended up in a better place…at least for a moment.
So as I compare the times of unemployment, I can not help but ask God “Why?”. What is this term of unemployment supposed to teach me? What will I learn from this test that I can later share with whoever God puts in my path? Will I be less stressed this time around? Actually, I can tell I will be less stressed.
But the second day after receiving the news of being laid off, the flesh started to take over. I begin to have strong feelings of anger. I wanted to fight, to tear up something and/or somebody. After all, I am only human.
But I made sure I prayed. I made sure that I listened to sermons on Christian television like TBN and Daystar. I made sure that the only thing I listened to on the radio was Christian stations. And earlier one morning on one Christian radio station, I heard a gospel song by Donald Lawrence & Tri-city singers called “Encourage Yourself”.
And that is exactly what we need to do…encourage ourselves.
Let me emphasize, once we achieve salvation (we are born again in the Holy Spirit), then we truly have power to encourage ourselves and power over the enemy. God’s Word says in Luke 10:19
Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.

I began feeling a little tired last week. It was not the physical tiredness from exercising or anything physical. It was more of a mental and I dare to say spiritual tiredness. At times it seems like I can not do things quick enough. There is so much to do in only 24 hours. There are so many peoples’ needs I need to meet. Then I have my own goals on top of that list of things to do or accomplish. Pardon me gentlemen but this is a constant dilemma many women face.
The thing is, I have been feeling like I have been battling but can not clearly identify who or what is attacking me. To be honest, alot of it is brought on by my own ambition. I have to work on not allowing my flesh to take over and do the fighting. After all, God says in
Exodus 14:14
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.
I am very honest with my self and very critical as well. I know that at times there is too much Tayarisha Joyce involved in dealing with things and not enough God. So during quiet moments I have asked God to forgive me for taking over and not trusting Him enough. I have been also honest in admitting this is a stronghold I will be working on for some time. I thank God for His grace and mercy for forgiving me for trying to “run things”.

We are blessed that we can visit sites like Praise 92.1 FM, a radio station based out of Houston, Texas that also is the home of the nationally syndicated “Yolanda Adams Morning Show with Brother Larry”. Below is a screenshot of the website as it existed at the time of this blog posting. Noticed I have pointed out or highlighted in red the area on their home web page that you click on to listen to the radio station live while you are online.
One site worth visiting is Streaming Faith. They provide a collection of saved sermons that you can listen to on demand (whenever you like). They also stream live sermons from both known and not so known church leaders. Streaming Faith also has listings and links to access tv networks and programs that you can view using their website. And there is also a category for radio programs you can listen to. Streaming Faith pulls many sources of Christian media together and allows you to access them using one website http://www.streamingfaith.com. Another site that seems to be anointed is God TV . Once you visit the main page of the site, you need to click on your appropriate geographic location on the map at the bottom portion of the screen. Once I did that, it took me to http://us.god.tv site (see following screenshot).
