A Place To Learn and Share Knowledge About Christianity As We Seek Peace of Mind Which Comes By Getting To Know Jesus Christ (The Only True Access To God)
No matter how long someone is unemployed, at times there is a tendency to be worried. We are human and the flesh is weak. Though I have faith in God and the steps that He has ordered me to take, I did have a bout with worry.
But as always God is right there with me. At the very moment I began to shed a few tears, a good friend of mine that I had not heard from in a while and who is also a Christian sent me a text message of encouragement. After exchanging messages back and forth, I felt better.
But as time went by (about a couple of hours) the flesh became weak again. I cried again but through the tears I repeatedly thanked God. I told God I know I will reach the other side of this storm because He is with me. I told God and Jesus that I love them.
Then a recruiter called me about an opportunity for a company I worked for as a contractor several years ago. I do not know how this opportunity will turn out. But my point is that God is showing me in different ways that He is right there. He knows what I am going through. And I am making a point to praise Him and love Him as I go through this period of unemployment.
So I wanted to find some relevant scripture that I could share with you. I want to encourage you to read Luke 12:22-31 which tells us not to worry and to listen to the song I included below. God knows we have needs. So if you are unemployed or you are lacking, know that God is with you and He knows what you are going through. Here is
Luke 12:22-31
22Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]? 26Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
27“Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

Didi you find the job? I am in a similar situation and I know God will provide for me but these past year since last has been so hard. Thanks for posting this.
Yes I did find a job. Actually I like to think that God found a job for me. I ended up getting a job that offered better opportunities than my last one. And it’s less stressful. And I have a boss that understands the importance of balancing work and life outside of work. So I’m less stressed in my new job than the one that let me go.
Things happen for a reason. Trust me you will get through this journey. And you will be better for it. It’s hard to keep the faith, but God sees and knows everything. He knows what you are going through and what you need. Just keep the faith.
Try to feed your soul positive things. If listening to positive music helps you to cope, then do that. Maybe listen to some online sermons to get you through it. Streamingfaith.com has some that you may want to listen to. Don’t allow yourself to be around negative people at this time. You don’t need that. And the most important thing is spend time with God, read the Bible and don’t be afraid to reach out to prayer lines.
