5 Things That Unblock Blessings

Have you set goals but don’t seem to be making much ground? Do you have big dreams but run into so many obstacles? Does it seem for every step forward you end up taking two back? It happens to all of us at some point in our lives. But in reading the Bible I’ve come to understand there are four things that need to be in place for the blessings to flow and to have a major breakthrough in your life.

First, let me say that if God choses to bless you there is nothing you can do to stop Him. So even if the following things aren’t in place, and God wants to bless you, of course The Great Almighty will do so. But if you are experiencing your blessings being blocked, take note of the following that should be in place to receive the promises of God

1. You must be saved. You must invite Jesus into your heart as Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9-10 is proof of that:
Romans 10:9-10
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

If you are not saved, you can say the salvation prayer available on any of these videos.

The reason I stress being saved is because Jesus explains in John 15:4 (see below) that in order for us to bear fruit (be able to show/display our blessings) Jesus must live in us (again accomplished through salvation). In John 15, Jesus is the vine and we are the branch. The branch is nothing without the vine. The branch alone can not bear fruit without the vine. Simply put, we need Jesus in our hearts and Lord over our lives. Jesus goes on to explain in John 15:5 without him, we can not do anything. But don’t take my word for it, here is Jesus’s word:
John 15:4-5
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

So make sure you are saved.

2. You must read the Word Of God. You must meditate on the scripture in the Bible. There are no shortcuts to this. Doing this affirms all the promises God has made to you, and it builds your faith to believe that He will deliver on His promises. If you have no faith in what God can do, you can ask for a thing but that doesn’t require God to act on it because you have little or no faith. The Bible says in Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Jesus explains in John 15:7 that if his words (the scripture) are in you, whatever you ask for will be done. John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

3. Once you have read God’s word and have relevant scripture, speak God’s word out loud. Read it and say it with faith as you pray with God about the things you desire and need.

4. What you ask for must be in alignment with God’s will. If your request is His will, you have the word of God in you, you speak God’s word out loud, and are saved, God’s word will not return void. Isaiah 55:11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

5. The last thing to remember and understand we can not control, is God’s divine timing. No matter if you have done the previous four things, if it is not the right time for the blessing, it will not happen, yet. So be patient and wait in faith that God hears you and will deliver on His promises to you.
Walking in love,
