When Dealing With Heartbreak, Remember God Is Still Able

The pain of a broken heart is indescribable. One minute you are ok. The next minute it hurts like you know what, and the pain manifests physically, mentally, and in your soul.

For some of us, sometimes the pain is so bad it seems all you can do to get rid of the pain is to just get in the bed and go to sleep. For others, crying may help.

One thing that is for certain is spending time with God definitely helps. Because you won’t always be able to talk during heartaches, it’s a good idea to just listen to God. There are many ways to do that. I encourage you to listen to Christian television like TBN (the Trinity Broadcast Network) or Daystar. Some cable providers offer other Christian channels such as The Word Network or BET Gospel Programming. But the point is to only allow your spirit to take in Christian sermons and music. By doing that you allow God to use Christian leaders and singers to speak directly to you. You will be given scripture to strengthen you and in time you will begin to heal. You will also find Christian music to be encouraging.

As I was working through my own broken heart and listening to Christian television, one scripture that kept coming up no matter what channel I turned to was:
Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose

So that was God’s way of telling me that even through the pain, He was using this for good. Then I begin to look for the good in the situation. I begin to take an honest look at things that I could do better in general and the next time I’m in a relationship. I also said out loud to the enemy “You do not win.” because I believe the enemy will try to break us from believing we can have all the promises of God. So I verbally said to the enemy “You do not win!”. That means I haven’t given up on having a real love experience before my journey is over. Satan “You do not win!”.

I got up the next morning to get groceries, and as I was driving in the car and turned to a Christian radio station, the first song to come on is a song entitled “Still Able” by James Fortune & FIYA. If you are reading this, it probably will bless you. Below is the youtube video for the song and a link to the lyrics:

The song starts with: “I’ve been hurt and abused
Even lied to by the ones I’ve trusted most…”

Be blessed my friend.

Walking in love,

  • Dear Ms. Beautiful Dottie,

We just have to take things one day at a time, and we must believe that God knows what He is doing.

We have to remember God protects and blesses those who love Him. As such, men have been removed from our lives because they aren’t the men God has for us.

Already I’ve met another nice man. I don’t know what the future holds, but with God I know the future is bright.

Keep walking in faith, hope, and love. I refuse to do otherwise.

I love you and your beautiful spirit.

    Tay,
Thanks so much for your encouraging word. I am surviving and gradually feeling better. I broke down and talked with my son on last Tuesday night and he said something that made me feel better and was enlightening.

You are a very wise and strong young woman. How are you doing. Just keep going down the path of strength and endurance and God will lead you to peace and happiness and you will soon be able to look back and say “Thank you Jesus for bringing me over.”.

    Dottie
